If there’s a bigger rivalry in the WSL than Chelsea v Arsenal, we haven’t found it. This one already has plenty of spice, and Katie McCabe swapping red for blue adds an especially tasty subplot as the former Gunner prepares to face her old club. Arsenal come into Stamford Bridge unbeaten but frustrated: a 1-0 win at Brighton was followed by a goalless draw with Crystal Palace despite 30 shots, then a 1-1 draw with Manchester United despite 17 more, before Tuesday’s Champions League opener brought a 1-0 win over HB Køge from Mariona Caldentey’s stoppage-time penalty — with Arsenal registering 21 shots and just two on target. That’s 68 shots and only two goals across the three most recent games. In the WSL, Slegers’ side sit fourth on five points from three matches, four behind early leaders Manchester City. The good news is Leah Williamson is back and starting, while there have been no major fresh injury concerns reported.
