UCL: PSV v Arsenal

Arsenal head to Holland for the first leg of their CL Round of 16 tie. Despite the injuries in their forward line, the Gunners will be favored to progress. PSV, having seen off Juventus previously, will be hoping to lean into their strong home form to stop the visitors.

Peter Bose’s men enter the tie with one win in their last six. They are a team with some potency through attach in the form of high flying winger Bakayoko and PL veteran Luuk de Jong. However, their defense has been suspect, having kept one clean sheet in fourteen. In eleven of those games they shipped multiple goals.

Arsenal are striker starved. They haven’t scored in their last two matches, and no help is on the way. The available players will simply need to execute. No doubt Arteta will lean into defensive solidity in the first leg– his side have been the best defensive team in the competition to date. But to advance they’ll need to score. So who will step up?
