Match Details
As Arsenal prepare to face Inter Milan in the Champions League, they find themselves navigating a challenging period. Currently sitting fourth in the Premier League table, Mikel Arteta's men have experienced a dip in form with a tough draw bookended by two frustrating losses. This week, the Gunners face a demanding schedule with two more difficult away fixtures, including this one at the San Siro. The North London side have performed adequately in Europe thus far, currently sitting two goals out of the automatic knockout stage spots with seven points after three games. Although Martin Ødegaard’s return to training is an encouraging sign, it’s likely too early for him to feature in the line-up.
Meanwhile, Internazionale sit second in Serie A and are in excellent domestic form, trailing only Napoli by a single point. In the Champions League, they’re level on points with Arsenal with seven, but are two goals and two places better. I Nerazzurri have had some injury concerns of their own, with several players carrying knocks, but they’ve managed a well-rounded performance so far. The two sides have a scant head-to-head record limited to two matches in the UCL group stage back in 2003, which curiously resulted in both sides winning away from home. This match also has a nostalgic layer for both sets of supporters, with legend Dennis Bergkamp having played for Inter before joining Arsenal and cementing his legacy in North London.
It's a Hump Day matinee, and a big one at that. Slip out early, move things around, or do whatever you gotta do to cheer on the Red and White as they look to right the ship.
We'd also like to thank our friends at Inter Club Boston, which includes supporters of both of our clubs, for their enthusiastic promotion of this match!
