Arsenal enter their second Champions League match of the season in strong form, unbeaten in both the Premier League and Europe. Mikel Arteta’s men currently sit second in the league, just one point and one goal behind Liverpool and Man City, respectively. In the Champions League, Arsenal drew 0-0 in a not-particularly-memorable opening fixture against Atalanta in Bergamo. Arsenal’s head-to-head record against Paris Saint-Germain is brief but memorable. The Gunners hold a W1 L0 D3 record against the French side, with the highlight being their victory in a 1994 Cup Winners' Cup semi-final. After the first leg half-time score line inspired the birth of of the now-iconic “One-nil to the Arsenal” chant in a match that ironically ended a draw, Super Kevin Campbell's goal in the second leg at Highbury sealed a 1-0 win and the tie.
With five wins and a draw from six matches, PSG unsurprisingly come into the match top of Ligue 1, albeit level on points with Monaco. In the Champions League, they narrowly beat Girona 1-0 in their opener, despite dominating the match statistically. Significantly however, the Parisiens will be missing Ousmane Dembélé, who was left out of the squad after clashing with manager Luis Enrique following their recent 3-1 win over Rennes. PSG also face injury concerns, with Gonçalo Ramos, Presnel Kimpembe, and Lucas Hernandez all unavailable, adding to the challenge for Les Rouge-et-Bleu.
