Tuesday Night Lights return to N5!
After a long international break, Arsenal returned to action on Saturday with a 2-1 comeback win over Leeds, though the performance for the first hour left plenty to be desired. Going a goal down was hardly ideal, but Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimarães struck within eight minutes of each other to turn things around, showing the mentality and squad depth needed to grind out results when the football isn't quite clicking. With the Champions League back at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta could shuffle the pack, particularly in attack. Viktor Gyökeres will be keen for a start after making an impact off the bench, while Eberechi Eze offers another option to inject creativity and give Arsenal's regulars a breather. There is, however, a fresh fitness headache, with Piero Hincapié and Martín Zubimendi both ruled out after picking up ankle injuries during the post-match warm-down.
Lille arrive in north London in decent domestic form, sitting second in Ligue 1 after four wins, a draw and one defeat from their opening six matches. They bounced back from a narrow loss at Nice by beating Le Havre 1-0 on Saturday, but their European campaign began with a 3-2 home defeat to Real Betis. Managed by Davide Ancelotti, Lille have enough attacking quality to make life uncomfortable if Arsenal give them room, and former Gunner Olivier Giroud adds a familiar face and a bit of box-office intrigue to the occasion. Full-back Tiago Santos is out with a serious knee injury, while Arsenal will need to be alert to Lille's threat in transition.
Another European night under the lights at the Emirates is a fine excuse to get behind the Gunners as they look to make it two wins from two in the league phase. Come along, bring the noise, and help make sure Lille leave north London with nothing but regrets.
