Arsenal welcome Bayern Munich to The Emirates on Wednesday in a matchup of the current top two of the Champions League table. Fresh off a North London Derby victory, the Gunners turn their focus to the continent. Bayern enter the match on the back of a 6-2 victory over Freiburg. It’s been two years since Bayern dumped Arsenal out of Europe, and you can bet Mikel Arteta will want to win this one convincingly.

Bayern have been one of the competition’s teams to watch. They’re walking the Bundesliga, and despite missing Jamal Musiala, can’t seem to stop scoring. Michael Olise and Harry Kane will be well known to Arsenal, but the neutral cannot deny they have been in sensational form. At the back, Bayern are resolute with Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah forming a wall in central defense. As one of the favorites for the UCL, Bayern will view this as a chance to make a statement.

It's up to Arsenal to be the protagonist. Mikel Arteta welcomed a few absentees back to his bench at the weekend, and he will be hopeful for a few more friendly faces returning in midweek. Eberechi Eze became the first player to score a hattrick in the NLD in nearly fifty years—he has arrived, and he will be eager to light The Emirate ablaze once again. Declan Rice and Martin Zubimentdi will be key in the engine room.
