UCL: Arsenal v Atlético de Madrid

Fresh off their 1-0 victory at Craven Cottage, Arsenal return home to host Atlético de Madrid in a Champions League Group Stage match-up.

This will be the first time Arsenal have played Atlético since 2017/18 in the Europa League Semi-Final. Diego Simeone’s men enter the contest within touching distance of the CL top 8, having pummeled Frankfurt in matchday 2. This is a non-traditional Simeone side: their defending has not been dogged, but their attack has carried them. Notably, they have yet to win a game on the road in any competition this season. That being said, a side with Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann should never be taken lightly.

Mikel Arteta will be looking to make it three wins from three. Expect light rotation for this one. Bukayo Saka has been in fine form, but the defense has been immense. Three goals conceded in eleven matches across all competitions. Big Gabi and Saliba will be looking to keep their perfect defensive record in Europe intact.
