No rest for the weary...
Fresh off a last-gasp winner against Manchester City, Arsenal head north to Tyneside to face Newcastle United. This will be the last in a string of very difficult fixtures for the Gunners to open the season. But after dropping points to City, this game is now must-win.
Newcastle are one of the best defensive sides in the league. At home, they are one of the best teams in the league, and Arsenal haven't won there in three years. Despite losing Alex Isak this summer, they still boast the likes of Anthony Gordon who will line up next to new boy, Nick Woltermade. Despite being 13th in the league right now, Newcastle will expect to climb much higher. It's up to Arsenal to make the process difficult.
Mikel Arteta has a few fresh injuries to worry about, with Noni Madueke expected to miss two months and new signing Pierro Hincapie missing the match this weekend. Bukayo Saka returned against Liverpool, and his presence will be most important at Newcastle. Martin Ødegaard is expected back as well. You can expect Arteta will go for defensive stability here, but the calls for attack are growing louder. It will be an interesting team selection at the weekend.
Can Arsenal get back to winning ways? Or will Newcastle continue to haunt them at St. James' Park? Join us Sunday midday for beers and cheers at Dillon's, and we'll learn the answer.
