Whether you Carabao it or not, here’s the thing about Wednesday's visit to Stratford: it wasn't up to the foggin' standard. It was terrible in nearly every way. But here’s the thing– there’s another match on Saturday, and that means another chance for the mighty Arsenal to make a statement in the old Barclays.
Both the Gunners and the Magpies enter among the Premier League’s elite sides as we all expected. Both sides also enter with a whole mess of injury problems. Wednesday wasn't nearly as bad for Newcastle, but we won’t exactly hold that against them. We will almost always take some kind of joy in Manchester United’s failures, and NUFC’s demolition of Mr. Ten Excuses’ band of frauds absolutely qualifies. Well in, you sportswashing so-and-sos. All those good feelings will end, of course, the first time Dan Burn violently fouls Bukayo Saka and gets away with it. But whatever, we pantsed them at their place year ago, and we’ll do it again.
Up the Gun. Let’s drink some beers, cheer on the lads and have a damn good time. Please stick around after the match for a special afterparty to say farewell to Brian "Clevo" Ristau.
