Now is the time. With a solid victory over Brighton in the books that saw yet another Declan Rice MOTM performance, Arsenal hit the road for what has become their bogey venue over the last decade: Anfield. The Gunners looked well-poised to break their duck on Merseyside back in April, scoring two early goals, but never found a third and ended up settling for a draw. With the hosts dropping points to United at the weekend, a victory for Mikel Arteta's side will see them top of the table entering the last week of the year.
Until Sunday's draw, Liverpool had won three league matches in a row, and took over top spot following Arsenal's loss at Villa Park. Despite coming off an underperfoming campaign and with an in-progress midfield, Jurgen Klopp's men seem to be back to something resembling their best. The Reds have W3 D2 L0 in their last five in the league, and sit a single point back in second place. Their sole loss was the highly-controversial match against Sp*rs back in late September. Given their last result, it's highly likely they will be extra-motivated for this one.
Let's go into Christmas the right way: with a win, plenty of cheer, and a pub packed with our wonderful BG family.
