Another extremely important and not at all wholly unnecessary international break has come and gone. The Arsenal return for the fourth London derby of their young Premier League season with a trip to Stamford Bridge.
Mauricio Pochettino's side are still figuring it all out after yet another Todd Boehly spending spree. They won their last two games ahead of the break and feature one of the stingiest defenses in the league. In fact, only Arsenal and Manchester City have conceded fewer goals. Meanwhile, the Gunners have won the last three meetings with Chelsea following last season’s double, and haven't lost at the Bridge since 2018.
Blues captain Reece James makes his latest return from injury in time for this fixture. For the Gunners, health has been a big part of the story in the season’s first quarter. Fortunately, they are finding some just as the schedule begins to pick up. Bukayo Saka’s status for Saturday remains a question after the winger withdrew from international duty due to the leg injury that saw him miss the 1-0 triumph over Manchester City.
