A big week lies ahead.
The good: Arsenal return from the last interlull until March. Less-good: They face Sp*rs, Bayern, and Chelsea in the span of a week. That said, the Gunners have dropped only two points in the North London Derby in three years. Despite losing Big Gabby to injury while on Brazil duty, Mikel Arteta will be confident his side can still extend that run with all three points. Especially with Gyökeres, Havertz, and Madueke all in frame to return to action, and Gabriel Jesus and Ødegaard close behind. The hosts will rely on Saka to continue his reign of terror against the Pride of Middlesex, while Zubimendi and Eze will want to make an impact.
After last season's shambolic league campaign cost Big Ange his job, Sp*rs sit fifth in the table under Thomas Frank. The Dane has put his stamp on the team, which has proven far more compact than the melted ice cream out of possession they were under Postecoglu. Segments of their support remain unconvinced, however, with some booing their own players for his defense-focused tactics. After the 2-2 draw with United, he will be desperate for his side to put in a winning performance for the traveling fans. The visitors are expected to have Mohammed Kudus back, with Lucas Bergvall also likely. In Kudus and Xavi Simons, Sp*rs also have the wingers to cause damage if given space. With a W2 D2 L1 record in their last five league matches, they will be confident. But confident sh*t is still ultimately sh*t.
Can Arsenal extend their recent dominance of That Lot From Up The Road? Or will Thomas Frank continue to be a tough nut to crack regardless of his employer? Find out on Sunday at Dillon’s as we remind the world there's only one colour of consequence in North London.
