Back to work– the first interlull has passed!
Arsenal return to action at the Emirates with the early kick-off against Nottingham Forest. Mikel Arteta's men will be looking for three points after a disappointing loss to Liverpool before the break. They will be missing William Saliba but will hope Bukayo Saka can make the bench. Several Gunners come into the match after solid international showings, especially Mikel Merino who scored a hat-trick for Spain.
Forest enter the match in turmoil. Going into the break, there were questions over whether Nuno would continue as manager after a public falling out with new Sporting Director, Edu. Those doubts appear to be confirmed as reliable sources are reporting at the of the time of this writing he has indeed been sacked, with no indication who will take charge of the side at the weekend. Regardless, Forest play a counterattacking style, and it's easy to envision a low block waiting for quick transitions through Callum Hudson-Odoi, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Omari Hutchinson. Newly-capped English midfielder, Elliot Anderson, will provide some energy and enthusiasm to the middle of the park.
This has all the makings of a tough match for Arsenal, who will hope for a stronger attacking showing than their last outing. It will also be a big game for Christhian Mosquera who will likely deputize for Saliba. Can Arsenal return to winning ways? Will Forest use Arsenal to right their ship? Join us at Dillon's bright and early for the answer!
