On to the next one.
After a frustrating European night, Arsenal resume their league title push with a home contest against Newcastle United. Save for the hiccup at Porto, the Gunners have been scintillating– they've outscored opponents 19-2 and allowed two shots on target in three matches. They have, however, had to contend with mounting injuries. Mikel Arteta will hope to welcome back several key players, notably Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey. He will also aim for his side to continue their ruthless streak despite facing a tough test against a team that employ all the dark arts.
Newcastle sit eighth in the PL table, most recently battling back for a home draw against Bournemouth. The story of their season though has been their own, ongoing injury crisis. Players like Callum Wilson, Alex Isak, and Joelinton have all missed significant time. Their CL campaign crashed and burned, and questions are being asked of Eddie Howe. Despite the injuries, the Magpies will have plenty to hurt Arsenal through Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, and Kieran Trippier.
Will the Red and White rise to the occasion in their third game of the week? Or will Newcastle dent Arsenal's title hopes and compound the week's misery? Join us early for pints and grub before this rare midafternoon Saturday kick-off. We’ll be at Dillons, or as we like to call it…Home.
