Arsenal welcome Manchester United for their first meaninful match this season, and one thing is for sure: the Emirates will be electric. Last year’s fixture saw a sublime Bukayo Saka strike and a late Eddie Nketiah winner that set North London ablaze. So far this season, our beloved Gunners have appeared slightly nervy at home. The post-Granit Xhaka era has predictably been uncomfortable. But new partnerships will form. New heroes will rise. And we can look at Sunday as a chance to put down a marker for our title challenge.

Arsenal let two points slip to Fulham last week. On a positive note, Fabio Vieira shined, Eddie scored from the bench, and Gabriel Jesus has risen (early!).  United, on the other hand, overturned a two-goal deficit to snatch victory from Nottingham Forest. They sit eighth in the entirely-too-early PL table. Erik Ten Haag’s men have looked far from convincing. Still, the Bruno Fernandes era as captain is off to a respectable start, and they remain a threat on the counter who would love nothing more than to come away with three points. It’s the age-old cliché: Throw the form book out the window.
