Ready for the run-in?

Arsenal return from the final international break of the season largely unscathed, though Riccardo Calafiori will miss a couple of weeks with a knock. The good news is that Bukayo Saka is back in full training after three months on the sidelines, though this match likely comes too soon for a start. A cameo off the bench is possible, with one eye on next week’s Champions League showdown against Real Madrid. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Miles Lewis-Skelly made headlines during the break, earning Player of the Match honours in his England debut against Albania. With the money end of the season here, Mikel Arteta will want his side sharp from the off against a Fulham team that has caused Arsenal plenty of problems in recent meetings.

Fulham have quietly positioned themselves for a European push, sitting eighth in the table and just three points shy of the Europa League places. Marco Silva’s side have taken points in each of the last three meetings with Arsenal, including a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage in December, and will fancy their chances of another upset. The Cottagers also have a familiar feel, with ex-Arsenal men Bernd Leno, Alex Iwobi, and Emile Smith Rowe all playing key roles. Leno, in particular, has frustrated his former club on multiple occasions since his move to West London. With their high-energy midfield and a knack for stifling Arsenal’s attack, Fulham will pose a stern test as the Gunners look to maintain their momentum in the latter stages of the season.
