291 days, 37 matches, 27 wins, 89 goals, and 293,647 Carlsbergs later, this is it.

Entering the final day of the season, the scenario required for the Premier League trophy to be lifted in North London for the first time in 20 years is simple: First, Arsenal must win over Everton at the Emirates. Second, West Ham must earn a minimum of a draw over Manchester City at the Etihad, where the hosts haven’t lost in the league since November 2022. There is a glimmer of hope, however: the Citizens have drawn 5 matches at home this season, most recently against Arsenal. Gooners everywhere will hope David Moyes had a nice tactical chat with his former captain Mikel Arteta this week so the departing West Ham manager can go out with a bang.

Meanwhile, after a tumultuous season that has included 8 total points deducted for financial violations and an ongoing cloud over their ownership situation, Everton are safe, at least for now. Since their last league defeat a month ago, a 6-0 drubbing at the Bridge, the 15th-placed Toffees have W4 D1, including victory over Liverpool in a memorable Merseyside Derby at Goodison. Inconveniently, Sean Dyche has his side playing some of their best football of the season at this stage, and is likely to relish the chance to spoil the Gunners’ dreams. The title may not be solely in Arsenal’s hands, but they will need to be raring and ready to do their part.

A timeline in which the title is to be decided on the final day with Arsenal firmly in the mix is all any of us could have asked for back in August, and it’s our reality. On a day in which many of the Invincibles will be in attendance at the Emirates, can this crop of Gunners channel the spirit of that special team whilst holding out for a miracle? Or will 115 FC joylessly keep us dreaming? This has been an incredible season for an incredible group of players and coaches. Regardless of what happens, this is a day to celebrate them and all they’ve given us, as well as each other. The future is incredibly bright.

Let’s do this, together, one more time.
