It's payback time. Third-place Arsenal host fifteenth-placed Brentford this Saturday at the Emirates. In the reverse fixture a season ago, Lee Mason infamously forgot to draw the offside lines, leading to a draw. While Mason later lost his job, the points were lost, and Arsenal's title bid started to wobble.
But this is a new season. The Gunners come into this contest red hot, having outscored Premier League opposition 31-3 since the start of 2024. The most recent victims, Sheffield United, were dominated 6-0 in one of the most one-sided matches in recent memory. Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard will look to continue their goal scoring/creating run and brush the Bees aside.
Brentford, on the other hand, are really struggling. With one win in five, Brentford come into this match reeling. One man with something to prove though is Ivan Toney. Fresh off his half season ban for gambling, you can bet he'll be determined to score and catch the eye of Mikel Arteta. Having publicly flirted with Arsenal for months, he now has the chance to make his case.The striker has given William Saliba some difficulty in the past, so this will be a good measuring stick of the young defender.
