FAC: Southampton v Arsenal

Arsenal visit Southampton on Saturday afternoon with an FA Cup semi-final on the line. With the final international break of the season behind us, Mikel Arteta will be eager to get back to winning ways after a disappointing trip to Wembley in the Carabao Cup Final.

Southampton have won five of six across all competitions and sit sixth in the Championship, level on points for the final playoff spot with Wrexham. Tonda Eckert’s men have been in fine form since the new year; however, they will be without several key players due to suspension. Midfield metronome Flynn Downes and playmaker Kuryu Matsuki will both be suspended.

The Gunners waved goodbye to the quadruple two weeks ago, but a treble is still possible. Arsenal will be looking to avoid consecutive domestic cup exits. They will have to do so with a number of injuries after many players either pulled out of internationals or came home with a fresh concern. Saturday will see a number of players get a chance to impress. Max Dowman and Marli Salmon could both start. Kepa will likely continue in goal. Myles Lewis-Skelly will be eager to perform if given a chance. With the upcoming fixtures, all fringe players need to step up.
