One of the many marvelous quirks of the English football calendar is upon us. Arsenal play Crystal Palace twice this week in two different stadia in two completely different competitions. Up first, it’s a League Cup quarterfinal live from the Emirates before Saturday’s league tie south of the Thames at Selhurst Park. The League Cup has been a strange one for Arsenal supporters. It’s truly a competition that matters only if you win it, which Arsenal hasn’t done since 1993. Given the uneven form from Mikel Arteta’s side of late, any opportunity to get some positive momentum and confidence needs to be taken. Also, hey, it’s a trophy! Palace’s form of late tells a decidedly different story with the unbeaten in their last five games, including a win over Brighton at the weekend and draws with Manchester City, Newcastle and Aston Villa. Midweek cup ties, however, have a way surprising, though. Wednesday’s cup tie is certainly one likely to come with an odd twist or two.
'Tis the Season for Every Three Days FC, so head on over to Dillon's for still yet another midweek matinee, quarter-final style!
