Event Details

Please read carefully. Arsenal kit swap and Women's Euro 2025 quarter-final screening follow AGM.

With another season having come and gone, it's again time for the BG Annual General Meeting.

The AGM is open to all Boston Gooners, and is the single most important thing we do all year outside of match days. We always implore our supporters to give the group a couple hours of their time for this meeting. We will debrief the 2024/25 season, discuss 2025/26, and take suggestions and feedback from you, our supporters, to continue improving the group and growing our community. As promised last summer, officer elections resume with this year's AGM. Details follow below. Between the conclusion of the AGM (approximately 2p) and the start of the Women's Euro 2025 quarter-final (3p), we will hold an Arsenal Kit Swap. Have old kits to swap or sell to fellow Boston Gooners? Bring them! Please note there is a concert at Fenway Park beginning later that afternoon, and we will relinquish much of the downstairs area to the general public once the meeting is over.

Kindly help us by RSVPing early, spreading the word about the AGM, especially to those in your orbit who may not be on social media, and coming with ideas to make our group even better. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 19th.

ELECTION INFORMATION:

Two officer positions are up for election this year per the BG by-laws: Vice-Chairman Joe Meloni will stand for re-election, while the Communications Officer, a new role created in a refresh of our Board structure, will be up for the first time. Anyone interested in becoming an officer is encouraged to self-nominate. Each candidate will have an opportunity to address the meeting prior to the respective elections. Prepared remarks are strongly encouraged. Officers serve two-year terms.

Responsibilities broadly include, but are not limited to:

Vice Chairman (focus: matchday operations)

  • Ongoing communication with Dillon’s regarding attendance/expectations

  • Manage match setup/teardown using remainder of Board and volunteers

  • Manage keys and holders

  • Manage AV setup when in attendance; ensure remainder of Board can do so when necessary

  • Keep decoration/supply bin orderly and appropriately stocked

  • Secondary representative to Arsenal America

Communications Officer

  • Manage social media presence with contributions from Board, committee, and wider community

  • Publish all match invites and update BG website as needed

  • Create official statements/responses promptly as needed with support from Chairman

  • Design visual collateral (or work with designer) for invites and other media

  • Strong writing skills required. Professional background in communications, marketing, design, or a related field preferred

If you are interested in running for either officer position, please contact us for more information as soon as possible. All candidates for office must be declared by 11.59p on Sunday, 13th July. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor during the meeting.
